Theresa W. Callaway, Formally of Cantonment, Florida, passed away peacefully on June 21, 2017 in Wesson, MS.
She was surrounded by her family. Mrs. Callaway was 87 years of age.
Mrs. Callaway was born in Pensacola, Florida on February 14, 1930.
Her loving parents, were Edward Hammond and Elizabeth (Bessie) Hammond. T
heresa married the love of her life on September 6, 1947 and they had two daughters.
Her husband Arthur, transferred to Monticello, MS with St Regis Paper Company in 1967.
After settling in Monticello, Theresa opened a ceramic shop at their home.
She shared her love of ceramics with other ladies that would come to her shop
and was affectionately known as a perfectionist.
She learned to play bridge with other “paper mill wives” while the husbands were working 12 hour shifts.
After Arthur retired from St. Regis, they moved back to Florida and built their home in Cantonment.
They spent their retirement years traveling and enjoying their time together.
Although marrying at the age of 17 and 18, their love never faltered and only grew stronger throughout the years.
Mrs. Callaway was very talented. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and drawing with pastels.
She shared her many talents with her daughters. In her later years,
she was happiest spending time with her girls while they each did needlework.
Mrs. Callaway was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Callaway Jr,
her parents, Edward and Bessie Hammond, brothers, Glyn Hammond, Adrian Hammond, James R. Willis, Jr
and sisters, Vera H. Cosby and Gladys H. Mathis.
Those left to cherish her memory are her two daughters, Donna C. Smith and husband Roger, Regina C. Cavin and husband Vernon.
Mrs. Callaway is also survived by four grandchildren, Angela Fick, Karla Wallace and husband Bubby,
Heath Grubbs and wife Sharon, and Jeremy Grubbs.
Ten great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

and her CNA Carolina Richardson, both of Hospice Ministries.
Services is 1:30pm Saturday, June 24, 2017 at Riverwood Family Funeral Service
