Visitation for Alisa will be held on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
at Riverwood Family Funeral Service. The visitation will resume on Thursday from 11:00 a.m.
until the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. at Riverwood.
Bro. Landon Smith and Dr. Garland Boyd will officiate and interment will be Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery.
Alisa, age 55, went to be with her Lord on Saturday, September 23, 2017
at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Brookhaven. She was born on March 16, 1962
to Lee Roy and Polly Smith in Brookhaven, and was a graduate of Brookhaven High School.
After high school, Alisa went on to attend Copiah Lincoln Community College where she received two degrees.
Many may remember Alisa from her restaurant, Lisa’s Place, on Highway 550, or from her 5 years working as a lab tech
at KDMC. Alisa enjoyed spending time with her family and taking care of her grandchildren. She was also an excellent
cook and was awarded the Wooden Spoon Award for her sweet potato and banana casserole. Alisa was a loving wife,
mother, grandmother, sister and friend that will be missed dearly by all who knew her.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Tony Forrest; son, Geoffery Forrest;
daughter, Krishanna Harvey; mother, Polly Smith; brothers, Larone Smith and wife Debbi,
Kerry G. Smith and wife Sherree; grandchildren, Jason Heathcock, Michael Forrest,
and Tara Rose Harvey; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her father, Lee Roy Smith; mother-in-law, Bonita Faye Forrest;
sister-in-law, Celana Forrest; and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Boyte and Mr. and Mrs. Hamlin Smith.
