Services for Mr. Terry Richard Leary, of Brookhaven are 1:00 pm Thursday, May 23, 2019

at Riverwood Family with interment at Easthaven Cemetery.

Visitation is from 5:00-8:00 pm Wednesday, May 22 at Riverwood and will resume

from 12:00 until time of service on Thursday.

 

Mr. Terry Richard Leary, 69, passed away on May 21, 2019 at his home.

He was born on June 15, 1949 to the late Robert Dudley Leary, Jr. and Marie Henrietta West Leary.

Terry was the owner of Smith Jewelry in Brookhaven. He enjoyed flowers and working in his garden.

 

 

 

Preceding him in death were his parents and uncle, Harold Leary.

 

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Jane Leary; son, Heath Leary and wife, Shondra;

brother, Robert Dudley Leary III and wife Pat and 2 grandchildren,

Colby Vance Williams and Conlan Heath Leary. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.

Services for Mr. William “Wilmer” Walter Fuller of Monticello are 11:00 am Wednesday, May 22, 2019

at Powells Grove Pentecostal Church with burial at Divide Memorial Methodist Protestant Church.

Visitation Tuesday, May 21 beginning at 5:00 pm at Powells Grove and resume from 10:00 am until time of service on Wednesday.

 

Mr. William “Wilmer” Walter Fuller, 69 went to be with his Lord on May 20, 2019.

He was born on December 2, 1949 to the late Walt and Vadie Fuller.

Mr. Fuller was a member of Powells Grove Pentecostal Church.

He will be missed by all that loved and knew him.

 

Preceding him in death were his parents; brothers, Marvin Fuller, David Fuller and Troy Fuller.

 

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 50 years, Shirley Ann Fuller; sons Travis Fuller and Trent Fuller;

brothers, J.W. Fuller, Bobby Fuller and sister, Minnie Allen.

He is also survived by 5 grandchildren, Ben Fuller, Skylar Fuller, Marvin Fuller, Chloe Fuller and Logan Fuller.

Services for Mrs. Betty Jean Posey McManus of Brookhaven are 11:00 am, Monday, May 20, 2019

at Gum Grove Baptist Church with burial at Gum Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation from 5:00 – 8:30 pm, Sunday, May 19, at Riverwood Family and will resume from 10:00 until time of service on Monday at the church.

 

Ms.Betty  McManus, 84, went to be with her Lord May 17, 2019 at St Dominic’s Hospital in Jackson.

She was born on February 18, 1935 to the late Rupert Posey and Edna Smith Posey.

 Betty was a member of Gum Grove Baptist Church and was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

 

Preceding her in death are her parents; daughter, Brenda McManus Castilaw;

brothers, J.W. Posey, Skeet Posey, Mike Posey; sisters, Donis Posey and Nell Thompson.

 

Those left to cherish her memory are her spouse of 65 years, Jewel D. McManus;

daughter, Jeanna McManus Hartzog; grandchildren, Hugh Hartzog and wife, Emily of North Mankato, Minnesota;

Sarah Dianne Hartzog of Houston, Texas

She is also survived by her sister, Irene Smith; brother, Jack Posey; sons-in-law, Ronnie Castilaw and Greg Hartzog;

and beloved nieces and nephews.

Services for Mr. William "Harry" SUllivan are Saturday, June 8th, 2019 at 10:00 at Church of the Way in Brookhaven

 

William “Harry” Sullivan, 73 of Brookhaven went to be with his Lord on May 15, 2019. He was born on December 10, 1945

to the late William Horace Sullivan and Luna Almedia Sullivan. Mr. Sullivan was a terminal manager for American Freightways

and was a member of Church of the Way.

 

Preceding him in death were his parents; brother, Joe Sullivan and sisters, Annette Zeigler and Carolyn Lott.

 

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Peggy Sullivan; sons, Barry Sullivan and Scott Allen and wife Stacey; daughters, Sonya Broome

and Penny Allen; brother, James Sullivan and wife, Ann; sisters, Peggy Rayborn, Betty Lott and Rachel Lott and husband, Wayne.

He is also survived by grandchildren, Clint Broome, Brady Broome and wife, Wren, Leeanna Broome, Lauren Cooley and husband Austen,

Sarah Allen, Julie Allen, Chesney Allen and Griffin Wilson; along with 2 great granddaughters, Brynleigh Cooley and Hanna Katherine Broome.

 

There will be a memorial service for Mr. Sullivan at a later date.

 

The funeral service for Mrs. Audra Genell Leming will be 10 a.m., Saturday, May 18, 2019, at

Riverwood Family Funeral Service. Visitation is 5-8 p.m., Friday, May 17, at Riverwood, and

will resume from 9 a.m. Saturday until time of service. Rev. Tim Gordon will officiate. Interment

will be held at High Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, at 2:30 p.m.

Audra Genell Johnson Leming, 89, of Brookhaven, passed away May 14, 2019, in Hattiesburg, MS.

She was born July 5, 1929, in Sebastopol, MS, to the late William Skinner Johnson and Mattie C. Mills Johnson.

She was a self-employed business owner and a member of Charity Baptist Church. She was a loving,

devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend and will be missed by all those who loved her.

She is preceded in death by her husband, J.R. Leming; parents; brother, Edward Ray Johnson;

and sister, Billie Buntyn.

Those left to cherish her memory are, her son, Keith Leming (Tally); daughter, Arlene Davis (Guy);

sister, Shine McLemore; and five grandchildren, Michael Davis, Rebecca Davis, Michelle Leming, Melissa Leming Saulnier (Troy),

and Mandi Pierce (Jacob). She is also survived by three great grandchildren, Kayla, Mariah, and Destiny.

Graveside Services for Mr. Perry Neil Plaisance of Bogue Chitto are 1:00 pm Thursday, May 16, 2019 at Rushing Cemetery in Tylertown.

 

Mr. Perry Neil Plaisance, 63, went to be with the Lord on May 13, 2019 at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg.

He was born on May 9, 1956 to the late O’Neil Joseph Plaisance and Ella Mae Terrebonne.

He was retired as a Production Operator in the oilfield and was a member of Open Door Baptist Church.

 

Preceding him in death are his parents; daughter, Mariah Plaisance and sister, Laura Duet.

 

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Dale Plaisance; sons, Brad Plaisance ad wife Cass,

Justin Plaisance and wife Leesa and Matthew Plaisance; brother, Mike Plaisance and wife Amy and sister, Elain Knight and husband, Lynn.

He is also survived by his 5 grandchildren, Alexia, Alaina, Alyssa, Silas and Kaden.

Graveside service for Mrs. Eva Lee Evans will be 2 p.m., Monday, May 13, 2019, at New Prospect Baptist Church Cemetery.

On Thursday, May 9, 2019, Eva Lee Evans, loving wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away at the age of 78, surrounded by family.

Mrs. Evans was born October 12, 1940, in Brookhaven, MS, to Marcus Leon and Marie Thames Townsend. She was a devoted wife and

homemaker to her partner of 58 years, John Richard Evans. The two married July 16, 1960. Though she was a lady of many gifts and talents,

she took great pride in, and caring for, her family, both immediate and extended.

Mrs. Evans is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Marcus Leon “M.L.” Townsend, Jr. and Donald “Sonny” Townsend, and a sister,

Joyce Townsend Ballard.

She is survived by her loving husband, John Richard; sons, Anthony Evans (Joyce), Jeff Evans (Beth), and Jody Evans (Tammie); brother, William Townsend;

and three sisters, Van Pearl Ward, Donnis Adams, and Linda Rice. She is also survived by four granddaughters, Amanda Evans Ingram, Anna Evans Atkinson,

and Ali and Sarah Grace Evans. She was also a proud great-grandmother to four, Isabella Ferguson, Avaleigh and A.J. Ingram, and Atleigh Atkinson,

as well as an aunt to numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express a special thanks to Compassus Hospice for their excellent care.

Funeral service for Mrs. Ima Jean Elliott will be 11 a.m., Saturday, May 11, 2019,

at Riverwood Family Funeral Service, with interment at Riverwood Memorial Park.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m., Friday, May 10, at Riverwood.

 

Mrs. Elliott, 78, of Brookhaven, passed away May 7, 2019, at her residence. She was born in Vandalia, MO, July 2, 1940,

to Edwin Stuart and Wilma Luebbers Stuart. She graduated college in her home state with her Teaching degree and has made

a difference in the lives of all students that she has taught through the years. Her highest calling has been her family, a loving and caring wife,

mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Mrs. Elliott traveled to see grandchildren play sports and was their greatest supporter.

 

She was a member of Central Baptist Church, where she ministered to her church family as well as the community.

She used her love of sewing and people to distribute gifts of love. She was a blessing to her family and will be missed by all who loved her.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Allen Elliott and her parents.

 

Those she leaves behind to cherish her memory are, her sons, Mike Elliott and wife, Lisa, of Wesson,

Joe Elliott and wife, Jennifer, of Bogue Chitto, MS, Mark Elliott and wife, Tammy, of Richland, WA;

brother, Edwin G. Stuart and wife, Suzanne, of California; sisters-in-law, Cecile Hoffman and Denise Besemer and husband, David;

eight grandchildren, Russell Elliott and wife Hannah, Rachel Elliott and Hunter Wilson, Joey, Elliott, Beth Elliott,

Emily Elliott, Abby Elliott, Presley Elliott and Zoe Elliott; two great grandchildren, Parker Elliott and Rhett Wilson.

 

She is also survived by her nieces and nephews, Kelly Stuart, Jill Curtis, Linda Hess, Paul Besemer;

great nieces, Sophia, Leah, and great nephew, Noah.

Funeral service for Mr. Danny E. Thompson will be 2:30 p.m., Saturday, May 11, 2019,

at Riverwood Family Funeral Service, with interment at Pleasant Grove Methodist Church Cemetery.

Visitation is from 12:30-2:30 p.m., prior to the service.

 

Mr. Danny E. “Goose” Thompson, 61, of Brookhaven, passed away May 7, 2019. He was born July 24, 1958,

to Howard Thompson and Ruby Wallace Thompson. He was a truck driver by trade and was a member

of Pleasant Grove Methodist Church.

 

He is preceded in death by his grandmother and adopted mother, Veta Grace Hall, and his parents.

 

He is survived by one son, Lucas Thompson; and his fiancé Lisa McClain.

Funeral service for Dr. Brent Durr Walker, Jr. will be 2 p.m., Friday, May 10, 2019 at

The Episcopal Church of the Redeemer in Brookhaven. Visitation will be from 11 am until 1:30 p.m.

in Cannon Hall prior to the service.

Dr. Walker, 75, of Brookhaven, passed away May 6, 2019, at King’s Daughters Medical Center.

He was born June 21, 1943, to Brent Durr Walker, Sr. and Grace Cranford Walker. Dr. Walker was a

graduate of Prentiss High School, Valedictorian of the class of 1961. He then went on to study and receive

his Master’s Degree in British Literature at Mississippi College. He received his Doctor of Philosophy at

Somerset University, England, and taught 35 years as professor of British Literature. He was very involved

in community and church, the Chair of Humanities Division, Sponsor of Phi Theta Kappa honor society,

and Ken Wooten Scholar’s Bowl for numerous years. As an accomplished musician, he served 50 years as

church organist in several churches, Hazlehurst Baptist Church, First Baptist, Brookhaven, Raymond

United Methodist Church, and was currently serving the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer in Brookhaven.

He enjoyed travel and served as tour leader numerous times to England and Europe. He was the author of

Lincoln County Mississippi: A Pictorial History and co-author of Wesson: Industrial City of the South.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Those left to cherish his memory are, his wife of 49 years, Patricia Ann Smith Walker; daughters, Kara Walker Pannell

and Leigh Anne Walker Betts (Ross); grandsons, Tucker Kees Nations, Jameson Walker Pannell, and John Ross Betts;

granddaughter, Lucy Arden Betts; and his special pet dachshund, Maggie.
