Riverwood Family Funeral Service. Visitation is 5-8 p.m., Friday, May 17, at Riverwood, and
will resume from 9 a.m. Saturday until time of service. Rev. Tim Gordon will officiate. Interment
will be held at High Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, at 2:30 p.m.
Audra Genell Johnson Leming, 89, of Brookhaven, passed away May 14, 2019, in Hattiesburg, MS.
She was born July 5, 1929, in Sebastopol, MS, to the late William Skinner Johnson and Mattie C. Mills Johnson.
She was a self-employed business owner and a member of Charity Baptist Church. She was a loving,
devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend and will be missed by all those who loved her.
She is preceded in death by her husband, J.R. Leming; parents; brother, Edward Ray Johnson;
and sister, Billie Buntyn.
Those left to cherish her memory are, her son, Keith Leming (Tally); daughter, Arlene Davis (Guy);
sister, Shine McLemore; and five grandchildren, Michael Davis, Rebecca Davis, Michelle Leming, Melissa Leming Saulnier (Troy),
and Mandi Pierce (Jacob). She is also survived by three great grandchildren, Kayla, Mariah, and Destiny.

Graveside Services for Mr. Perry Neil Plaisance of Bogue Chitto are 1:00 pm Thursday, May 16, 2019 at Rushing Cemetery in Tylertown.
Mr. Perry Neil Plaisance, 63, went to be with the Lord on May 13, 2019 at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg.
He was born on May 9, 1956 to the late O’Neil Joseph Plaisance and Ella Mae Terrebonne.
He was retired as a Production Operator in the oilfield and was a member of Open Door Baptist Church.
Preceding him in death are his parents; daughter, Mariah Plaisance and sister, Laura Duet.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Dale Plaisance; sons, Brad Plaisance ad wife Cass,
Justin Plaisance and wife Leesa and Matthew Plaisance; brother, Mike Plaisance and wife Amy and sister, Elain Knight and husband, Lynn.
He is also survived by his 5 grandchildren, Alexia, Alaina, Alyssa, Silas and Kaden.
Graveside service for Mrs. Eva Lee Evans will be 2 p.m., Monday, May 13, 2019, at New Prospect Baptist Church Cemetery.
On Thursday, May 9, 2019, Eva Lee Evans, loving wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away at the age of 78, surrounded by family.
Mrs. Evans was born October 12, 1940, in Brookhaven, MS, to Marcus Leon and Marie Thames Townsend. She was a devoted wife and
homemaker to her partner of 58 years, John Richard Evans. The two married July 16, 1960. Though she was a lady of many gifts and talents,
she took great pride in, and caring for, her family, both immediate and extended.
Mrs. Evans is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Marcus Leon “M.L.” Townsend, Jr. and Donald “Sonny” Townsend, and a sister,
Joyce Townsend Ballard.
She is survived by her loving husband, John Richard; sons, Anthony Evans (Joyce), Jeff Evans (Beth), and Jody Evans (Tammie); brother, William Townsend;
and three sisters, Van Pearl Ward, Donnis Adams, and Linda Rice. She is also survived by four granddaughters, Amanda Evans Ingram, Anna Evans Atkinson,
and Ali and Sarah Grace Evans. She was also a proud great-grandmother to four, Isabella Ferguson, Avaleigh and A.J. Ingram, and Atleigh Atkinson,
as well as an aunt to numerous nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Elliott, 78, of Brookhaven, passed away May 7, 2019, at her residence. She was born in Vandalia, MO, July 2, 1940,
to Edwin Stuart and Wilma Luebbers Stuart. She graduated college in her home state with her Teaching degree and has made
a difference in the lives of all students that she has taught through the years. Her highest calling has been her family, a loving and caring wife,
mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Mrs. Elliott traveled to see grandchildren play sports and was their greatest supporter.
She was a member of Central Baptist Church, where she ministered to her church family as well as the community.
She used her love of sewing and people to distribute gifts of love. She was a blessing to her family and will be missed by all who loved her.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Allen Elliott and her parents.
Those she leaves behind to cherish her memory are, her sons, Mike Elliott and wife, Lisa, of Wesson,

Emily Elliott, Abby Elliott, Presley Elliott and Zoe Elliott; two great grandchildren, Parker Elliott and Rhett Wilson.
She is also survived by her nieces and nephews, Kelly Stuart, Jill Curtis, Linda Hess, Paul Besemer;
great nieces, Sophia, Leah, and great nephew, Noah.

Mr. Danny E. “Goose” Thompson, 61, of Brookhaven, passed away May 7, 2019. He was born July 24, 1958,
to Howard Thompson and Ruby Wallace Thompson. He was a truck driver by trade and was a member
of Pleasant Grove Methodist Church.
He is preceded in death by his grandmother and adopted mother, Veta Grace Hall, and his parents.
He is survived by one son, Lucas Thompson; and his fiancé Lisa McClain.
Funeral service for Dr. Brent Durr Walker, Jr. will be 2 p.m., Friday, May 10, 2019 at
The Episcopal Church of the Redeemer in Brookhaven. Visitation will be from 11 am until 1:30 p.m.

Dr. Walker, 75, of Brookhaven, passed away May 6, 2019, at King’s Daughters Medical Center.
He was born June 21, 1943, to Brent Durr Walker, Sr. and Grace Cranford Walker. Dr. Walker was a
graduate of Prentiss High School, Valedictorian of the class of 1961. He then went on to study and receive
his Master’s Degree in British Literature at Mississippi College. He received his Doctor of Philosophy at
Somerset University, England, and taught 35 years as professor of British Literature. He was very involved
in community and church, the Chair of Humanities Division, Sponsor of Phi Theta Kappa honor society,
and Ken Wooten Scholar’s Bowl for numerous years. As an accomplished musician, he served 50 years as
church organist in several churches, Hazlehurst Baptist Church, First Baptist, Brookhaven, Raymond
United Methodist Church, and was currently serving the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer in Brookhaven.
He enjoyed travel and served as tour leader numerous times to England and Europe. He was the author of
Lincoln County Mississippi: A Pictorial History and co-author of Wesson: Industrial City of the South.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Those left to cherish his memory are, his wife of 49 years, Patricia Ann Smith Walker; daughters, Kara Walker Pannell
and Leigh Anne Walker Betts (Ross); grandsons, Tucker Kees Nations, Jameson Walker Pannell, and John Ross Betts;
granddaughter, Lucy Arden Betts; and his special pet dachshund, Maggie.

Joannie Nicole Love, 39, of Brookhaven, passed from this life May 5, 2019 at King’s Daughters Medical Center.
She was born April 27, 1980, to Jackie Wilkinson, Sr. and Aleane Wallace Wilkinson. She was a loving
wife and mother, caring for her family was her highest priority.
She is preceded in death by her mother; grandparents, J.M and Alyne Wilkinson and William and Mary Wallace.

Ruth Nell Case Rushing, 79, of Brookhaven, passed from this life May 6, 2019, at her residence.
She was born June 3, 1939, to Elmer Case and Inelle Anding Case. She retired as a Certified Nursing Assistant
and was a member of Pearlhaven Baptist Church. Mrs. Ruth was a caring wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend.
As a professional caregiver, she was not only concerned with the needs of her patients but her family and
friends as well. She will be missed by all who loved her.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Leon Rushing; parents; daughter-in-law, Patricia Rushing;
brother, Robert Eugene Case and sister-in-law, Kathy Case.
Those left to cherish her memory are, her son, Reggie Rushing; daughters, Regina Rushing Whittington
and fiancé Michael Walker; brothers, William “Buddy” Case, Charles Larry Case, Marell Case, and
Desi Lee Case, all of Brookhaven. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, and other loving family members and friends.

Mr. Charles, age 82 and a resident of Brookhaven, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 5, 2019 at his residence. He was born on May 5, 1937 to Alfred and Hazel Franklin in Philadelphia, MS. Mr. Charles was an Appliance Repairman by trade, and enjoyed hunting and fishing in his spare time. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and will be dearly missed by all of those who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Mae Franklin; parents; and a son, Bobby Franklin.
Those left to cherish his memory are his sons, Eugene Franklin and wife Carolyn, Kenneth Franklin, and step-son, Philip Hickman; daughters, Beverly Bassett and husband Alfred, Gatha Skinner and husband Ottis, and step-daughters, Rhonda White and husband Keith, and Trish Elkins. He is also survived by a brother, Rudolph Franklin and wife Ellie, as well as 14 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Linda Marie DeLaughter, 69 of Bogue Chitto passed away on May 3, 2019 at Courtyard Nursing Home in McComb.
She was born on November 1, 1949 to the late Barney Odell Ballard Sr and Annie Marie Stephens.
She was a seamstress and of the Pentecostal Faith.
Preceding her in death were her parents; sister, Catherine Carr and brother, Jimmy Dow Ballard.
