“ Dear Cook Family,
As a boy visiting from Hobbs during the summer or Christmas break, our stop at Aunt Necie’s was a special treat. When it came to cooking, she baked the best buttermilk biscuits this side of Vicksburg. Upon arriving at the Cook home, we were met with her delightful southern Shirley personality and a welcoming smile and voice that lit up the room.
Necie was and is a gift to all who knew her. I am grateful Necie was such a good friend and companion who supported my Mother after she moved to Brookhaven. Her weekly visits were greatly appreciated. We will miss her.
