Dickie Wayne Johnson

Dickie Wayne Johnson, 72, of Brookhaven, died July 31, 2023, at his residence. He was born in Brookhaven on September 11, 1950, to Hollis and Fredna Johnson. Mr. Johnson was a retired construction worker. After retiring he enjoyed spending his time outdoors, hunting, or just taking in the beauty of creation.

He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Marjorie Ellen Hart; and two brothers, Glen K. Johnson and Ronnie Dale Johnson.

He is survived by his sister, Carolyn Johnson Cox and a host of nieces and nephews as well as cousins and other loving family members and friends.

    Dickie was a precious first cousin. He was a little older than me by nine months. One of my first playmates. I loved him very much.

    I was a little girl when I met Dickie & Ronnie. He and Ronnie came to our house on Saturday morning, and I was watching I Love Lucy. Dickie was a classmate and friend of my brother, Don. Got to know him better when I dated Ronnie in high school. He was quiet and funny, and loved to pick on Ronnie, but treated me well. I am saddened for Carolyn, now having lost her last sibling. My sincere condolences to Carolyn, Grace, Johnnie & familiy.
