Lawrence Stevenson

Lawrence Stevenson, 82, of Brookhaven, MS, passed from this life on Friday, February 7, 2025, at King’s Daughters Medical Center. He was born in Cuba, MO on May 10, 1942, to John Stevenson and Virginia Pyatt.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his son, Robert Stevenson; daughter, Janet Hix; brother, Charles Marcee; sister, Rose Mary Hastings; and great granddaughter, Autumn Giles.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Kathryn “Kathy” Stevenson; two daughters, Judy Delaney (Wayne) of Wesson, MS and Connie Capen (Wayne) of Hazlehurst, MS; two brothers, William Ray Hubbs of St. Louis, MO and Archie Rulo of Richmond, VA; grandchildren, Melissa Bowman (Kyle) of Brookhaven, MS, Ben Delaney (Taylor) of Carrollton, MS, James Jordan of Brookhaven, MS, Jessica Jordan of Centertown, MO, Butch Delaughter of Brookhaven, MS, Leanna Howard of Ocean Springs, MS, Michael Howard of Hazlehurst, MS; 11 great grandchildren and a lifetime friend, Donny Hunt of Desoto, MO.

Mr. Stevenson serviced his country in the United States Army. He was retired from offshore and James’ Small Engine. He was a very active member of the Brookhaven Moose Lodge where he served on the board for many years.

He enjoyed going to Wards in Brookhaven to have coffee with friends and going to the Moose Lodge and their legion events.

He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

    I've known Mr. Lawrence for many many years! He would always come by my office every time he came to the Courthouse to check on me! He was a Good Man and will be missed by many! Rest in Peace Mr. Lawrence!!
