A celebration of life will be held for Reverend James Roy Killingsworth 11 a.m., Thursday, March 13, at Divide Methodist Protestant Church in Monticello, MS, with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation is from 5-8 p.m., Wednesday, March 12, at Divide Methodist Protestant Church, and will resume from 9 a.m. until the service on Thursday.
Mr. Killingsworth, 73, of Monticello, MS entered eternity on March 10, 2025. He began his journey through this life on November 10, 1951, born to B. Lynn Killingsworth and Nellie Mae Killingsworth.
Mr. Killingsworth wore many hats in life, he worked as a custodian at Topeka Tilton, bus driver, and football coach. He was also a volunteer fire fighter for District 3, for 14 years. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing. He had a specific love for Pee Wee sports and little league sports and coached for over 40 years, and he had a passion for Lawrence County High School football.
Mr. Killingsworth was a Minister of the gospel with the Methodist Protestant Conference for 49 years. He was a loving and faithful husband, father and grandfather, he will be greatly missed by all who loved him.
He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Dorothy Foster; brothers, Howard Killingsworth and Horace Killingsworth; and nephew, David Killingsworth.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 53 years, Cathy Killingsworth; children, Marcus Killingsworth (Vanessa), Cody Killingsworth (Ciarra), and Lee Mayo (Alex); brothers, Wayne Killingsworth and Billy Jo Killingsworth (Pat); four grandchildren, Walker James, Sammie Claire, Caycie Lynn, and Callie Rae; sister-in-law, Kay Alexander, and a host of other loving family members and friends.
