Was my band leader at Itawamba Junior College, now community college.
Thought so much of him. A good and decent man.
Sue Carol so sorry to see this!! You and the boys are in my thoughts and prayers ???????
I’m so sorry to hear of Cecil’s passing. He was an important & influential person in the lives of my husband, Carl, as his high school band director & my daughter, Paige, as her first flute tutor. He certainly meant so much to Paige & was integral in helping her excel as a flutist. It was an important part of her growing up & into a successful adult. Thank you, Cecil.
God bless you Sue Carol & all your families praying for you Nancy

I was a band student of Mr. Trantham at THS for 3 years. He had crucial positive influence on me. I always wondered if he knew how important his encouragement and support was. He made me believe I had talent and stressed the importance of college education. I would not have had the life or career I have without Mr. Trantham’s guidance during those difficult high school years. My condolences to the Trantham Family.
Dear Sue Carol,
Patrice, Michele, and I are so sorry to hear about Cecil. We are thinking about you and your family and sending our love. I will be in touch.

Our thoughts and prayers are with y’all big love . I had the privilege of being one of his students and thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it and loved this man to no end . He was a great mentor and teacher .
Mr. T was instrumental in my life not only as a musician, but as an educator and a person. He was so patient with me and saw potential that I had never seen in myself. He had so much wisdom. I find myself repeating some of his quirky quotes to my own students. I will forever be grateful that I had Cecil Trantham in my life. Mrs. Sue Carol, you and the boys will be in my prayers as you say good bye to this incredible man.
Much Love,
Amanda Davis May
So very sorry for your loss Sweet Sue Carol . Love you and praying for the entire family . Gayle and Frank
Mr. Trantham changed my life. During HS, I was somewhat a rebel. I had quit band and when I got home from school that day, Mr. T was sitting on my front door steps. He gave me the encouragement I needed to come back. I eventually went on to Southern Miss and got a BM and a MM in music - trumpet performance. Mr. T was one of the most influential persons in my life. Mine was only one of many lives he impacted.
