I am very said to have found this obituary years after Mrs. Land had passed. She was my high school junior and senior year art teacher. When I was a class nuisance, she never gave up on me and continued to push me. She helped me to mature during my senior year and helped me recognize that I may actually have some talent that I could make use of. She was the best. I think of her all the time, even 31 years after I had last seen her my senior year. I will never forget her.

My heart is broken. You are all in my thoughts & prayers. She was always so kind & by far one of my favorite teachers. I will never forget the sound her jade ring would make when she was teaching. I am so fortunate that she, and her amazing family, are part of my life.❤

I am so saddened to hear if your great loss. I will lift you all in prayer as you begin a new phase of life without your loved one. She was always such a sweet, kind, talented lady. My middle son, Kelly, had her at BHS and he loved her so. She brought out the talent, in a very shy, young man and gave him confidence. I will forever be grateful for her attention and love of teaching that helped him so much. He still has the artwork and a love for art. Prayers for comfort, strength, peace, and we know she is enjoying in awe, all Heavens Glory .

Mrs. Vicki was truly a gem. She will be very missed. I will never forget her sweet smile. She was a special lady. I'm so blessed for the path that lead me to Fleet Feet in Birmingham that gave me the opportunity to know and love the Land family. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
