James was my cousin. When I was 5 or 6, James saved me from getting snakebit when we were out fishing with Uncle Virgil and Daddy John. I was bored, impatient and wanted to go ashore to catch tadpoles. They gladly pulled to shore to off-load me. As I started to jump out of the boat, a cottonmouth that was coiled up by a gan can struck at me. James was behind me (still in the boat) and jerked me straight up. The snake missed me. Never forget that day! Over the years we lost touch. Will miss him.

Just saw that he had passed away. Oh the memories of Hardy Wilson. Didn't know of Ms Ann passing either. Such a sweet soul.

James and his sister Ann would drive thought my driveway and we would laugh and carry on a sweet conversation. He came from Jackson to stay a few days with Ann. Such a joy to laugh with both of them. He will be missed. Prayers with the family.

James and I were good friends all through our years at Hazlehurst High School, Copiah Lincoln Jr. College as well as for many years in the Mississippi Army National Guard. That is where his medical career began. We had many great times together. Please let me know what service arrangements are made.
    With deepest Sympathy,

    J. Ivan Cheroni
