Charles Henry Stogner

Memorial service for Mr. Charles Henry Stogner will be 11:00 a.m.,

Tuesday, April 2, 2019, at Zion Hill Baptist Church.

Mr. Charles Henry Stogner, 81, of Wesson, MS, passed from this life on

March 26, 2019, in Houston, TX. He was born in Magnolia, MS, on

January 10, 1938. Mr. Stogner served his country in the United States Navy

and was a member of Northminster Baptist Church. He was the owner of

Stog Market Affiliates and a member of the Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed

journalism and computer technology, but in his free time, he liked to work in his garden.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. T.J. Stogner and

one brother, Jerry Stogner.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Claudine Remington Stogner;

as well as other loving family members and friends.

Robert "Bob" Stanley Morris

Funeral service for Mr. Robert Stanley Morris will be 3:00 p.m., Saturday,

March 30, 2019, at Riverwood Family. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until time

of the service at Riverwood.

Robert “Bob” Stanley Morris, 83, of Brookhaven, passed from this life March 28, 2019,

at his residence. He was born August 6, 1935, to Annie Lois Harvey Morris and

Stanley Marion Morris, in Scott County, MS.

Mr. Morris served honorably for two years in the United States Army active military

duty, during the Vietnam War, and is a lifetime member of the American Legion.

He attended Southern Mississippi College and graduated with honors from Whitworth College.

He owned and operated Morris Insurance Agency for 30 years. He was a member of the

Brookhaven Exchange Club for 25 years and served his community by coaching pee wee baseball

and was one of the founders of pee wee football league. Mr. Morris was of the Baptist faith and

supported the Church with his prayers, presence and tithe. He is loved and will be missed by his family and friends.

Preceding him in death are his parents; first wife, Mary Annette “Spebe” Lee Morris; daughter,

Susan Lois Morris Butler; son, Steven Lauren Morris; step-son, Henry Alan Ainsworth,

and his long-time companion, Ginger, his Golden Retriever.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Elizabeth Ann Ainsworth Morris; son, John Robert Morris

and wife, Penny; stepson, Joel Mark Ainsworth; step daughters, Brenda Ainsworth Parent and husband,

James, Lisa Ainsworth Lott and husband, Gregory; nine grandchildren, Angela Butler Herrington and

husband, Nathan, Josh Robert Morris, Julie Annette Morris, Lauren Brooke Morris, Stacy Dean Britt, Jr.,

Caleb Lyle Lott, Summer Lane Munn, Ki Ainsworth, Kinley Ainsworth; and four great grandchildren,

Skylar Elizabeth Little, Paizlee Annette Morris, Bowen James Britt, and Emma Alexandria Britt.

Infant Justice Leigh Cupit

Graveside service for Infant Justice Leigh Cupit will be 7:25 p.m., Thursday,

March 28, 2019, at New Salem Baptist Church Cemetery.

Justice Leigh Cupit, “how quietly you tiptoed into our world, silently, only a

moment you stayed. But what an imprint your footprints have left upon our hearts.”

Justice is survived by her parents, James E. Cupit, Jr. and Lyndsy Leigh Lofton;

brothers, James E. Cupit, Jr Tyler Chase Cupit, Cody Cupit, Cory Cupit, and

Charles Ray Cupit; grandfather, Charles Ray Cothern. He is also survived by his

grandparents, David Lofton, Keith and Lisa McKey, Beverly Cupit, and Joyce Lofton,

as well as her aunts and uncles, Gage and Stephanie Lofton, Ansley Lofton and Jacob Wooten.

Fred Arthur King

 Memorial service for Mr. Fred Arthur King will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 29, 2019, at Clear Branch Baptist Church.

Mr. King, 75, of Brookhaven, passed away March 26, 2019 at his residence. He was born January 9, 1944, to

Delton Ray King and Mary Jane Elizabeth King. During his lifetime, he served his country in the

United States Army in the Vietnam and Desert Storm wars, and he served as a Security Guard at

King’s Daughters Medical Center, in Brookhaven.

He is preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Ferman King, James King, and John King;

and by one daughter, Renee Keene.

Those left to cherish his memory are, his wife, Etta King; son, James King and wife Markie; daughters,

Gwen Caskey and husband, Wayne, Chelsea Baggett and husband, Lonnie, and Kristina King; one sister,

Agnes Brown; and seven grandchildren, as well as many other loving family members and friends.

Jack "Jackie" McKenzie

Funeral service for Jack “Jackie” McKenzie will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 30, 2019, at

Riverwood Family, with interment at Mt Zion Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from

5:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m., Friday, March 29, at Riverwood.

Mr. Jack McKenzie, 60, of Brookhaven, passed from this life on March 25, 2019 at his residence.

He was born April 7, 1958, in Magnolia, MS. He was employed with Sanderson Farms as a

Corporate Fleet Manager and was a member of Mt Zion Baptist Church.

He is preceded in death by his father, Atley McKenzie; brother, Dickey McKenzie; brother-in-law,

Stan Jones; sisters-in-law, Jena Presley Norton, Mary Ann Presley; mother-in-law, Edith Mae Britt Presley;

niece, Emily Presley, nephew, Clay Norton; and best friends, Brian Dillon, Joey Dillon, and Rick Estess.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Nancy Presley McKenzie; son, Benjamin Atley McKenzie;

daughter, Natalie Jo McKenzie; brothers-in-law, Andy Presley and wife, Debbie, Don Presley, Dan Presley,

sisters-in-law, June Jones, Lawanda J. Jones; He is also survived by many cousins, aunts, uncles, nephews

and nieces as well as his Sanderson Farms Family and very special family members, “Drewbie-Doobie” and

Honey Bunn McKenzie. 

There are two more friends we want to mention, every family has a story, and without the help of

Jack’s two friends, Laddy Payne and Gina Whittington, who introduced Jack and Nancy, this story would not be the same.

Services for Glenn James Bodin of Brookhaven are 1:00 pm Wednesday, March 27, 2019

at Riverwood Family Funeral Service with burial at Riverwood Memorial Park.

Visitation is from 11:00 until time of service on Wednesday, at Riverwood.

 

Glenn James Bodin, 68 passed away on March 23, 2019 at Baptist Hospital in Jackson.

Mr. Glenn was born on April 3, 1950. He was retired from MDOT’s Signal and Sign Division

as well as B & B Utility. Mr. Glenn was also a member of St Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Brookhaven, Mississippi.

 

Preceding him in death is his father, Royal Bodin.

 

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Debby Bodin;

mother, Hazel Bodin; daughter, Kelsey Myers and husband Chet;

brother, Van Bodin; sister, Sydney Gardner; grandchildren, Caleb Myers and Taylor Myers.

He is also survived by brother and sister in laws, Michael and Patricia Posey and a host of nieces and nephews.

James Rabon Freeman

Services for Mr. James Rabon Freeman of Brookhaven are 11:00 am Tuesday, March 26, 2019

at Riverwood Family Funeral Service with visitation from 5:00-8:00 pm Monday, March 25, at Riverwood.

Mr. James Rabon Freeman, 71 passed away on March 22, 2019 at Diversicare Nursing Home.

He was born on May 11, 1947 to the late Percy Leroy Freeman and Lizzie Abigill Arnold Freeman.

He was a fork lift mechanic and was a member of Pearlhaven Baptist Church.

Mr. Freeman enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing games.

Preceding him in death are his parents; brothers, Leroy Freeman, Archie Freeman, Milton Freeman, Shelby Freeman;

granddaughter, Alyssah Renee Freeman and great grandson, Waylon Jay Anderson.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Irene Laverne Freeman; sons, James Mitchell Freeman,

Jeffery L. Freeman and wife Stephanie, Kevin Roy Freeman and wife, Susan;

daughters, Darlene Laverne Freeman, Janice Laverne Carson and husband, Mike

and Crystal Gail Freeman. He is also survived by sisters, Geneva Aldridge and Millerie Watts;

16 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

James Glenn Kyzar

Services for Mr. James Glenn Kyzar of Ruth are 1:00 pm Saturday, March 23, 2019

at Riverwood Family Funeral Service with burial at East Lincoln Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. James Glenn Kyzar, 66, passed away on March 20, 2019 at Baptist Medical Center in Jackson.

He was born on October 12, 1952.

He enjoyed cattle farming, baling hay, and drag racing. He was also a truck driver in the oil and gas business.

Preceding him in death are his father, James Robert Kyzar; half-brother, Tommy Carrol Kyzar; uncle, L.P. Ballard;

grandparents, Perry Ballard and Maggie Lambert Ballard.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Sherri Holt Kyzar; mother, M.L. Kyzar Summers;

sons, Jason Glenn Kyzar and Justin Holt Kyzar; half- brothers, Robert Wendell Kyzar, John Timothy Kyzar and David Kendell Kyzar;

also, granddaughter, Kartlyn Lee Kyzar and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Bruce Wayne Davis

Mr. Bruce Wayne Davis, Sr., 68, of Brookhaven, passed from this life on March 20, 2019 at Silver Cross Nursing Center.

He was born in Natchez, MS on September 4, 1950. He served in the Merchant Marines, early in his life, and was employed

by Wal Mart Distribution as a Merge Operator. While at Silver Cross, he became part of the Welcoming Committee.

Mr. Davis enjoyed the art of drawing in his quiet time.

Mr. Davis is preceded in death by his mother, Christina Ezell Davis.

Those left to cherish his memory are, his father, Joe Davis; son, Bruce Davis, Jr.; daughter, Christina Wheat and husband,

Jerry; sisters, Dorothy Malone and Paulette David and husband, Jimmy; two grandchildren, Gabrielle Martin and husband,

Timothy, and Meagan Wheat; and one great grandson, Wyatt Martin.

Walter Lynn Howington

Services for Mr. Walter Lynn Howington, of Brookhaven are 11:00 am Wednesday March 20, 2019

at Riverwood Family Funeral Service with burial at Sylvarena Baptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be Tuesday, March 19, from 5:00-7:00 pm and will resume on Wednesday from 10:00 until time of service.

 

Mr. Walter Lynn Howington, 74, went to be with his Lord on March 16, 2019 at his residence.

He was born on December 27, 1944 to the late Walter Alfred Howington and Ella Jackson Howington.

Mr. Howington was a member of First Baptist Church Brookhaven and a member of the Lincoln County Forestry

Association and Co-Lin Foundation. He enjoyed gardening, golfing, motorcycling, shooting pool and watching

his grandchildren with their sports and activities.

Preceding him in death are his parents; sister, Margaret Howington Smith and half brother, Walter Moak Howington.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Margaret Ball Howington; daughters, Scarlett Howington Mooney

and husband, Todd, Stephanie Howington Smith and husband, Mike; sister, Joyce Howington Ellison; and half-brothers,

Curtis Lee Howington and Walter Thomas Howington.

He is also survived by his 4 grandchildren, Alex Tyler Mooney, Aaron Kyle Mooney, Abby Nicole Mooney

and Gracie Lyn Smith; and numerous nieces and nephews.
