Thomas Brown, Jr.

Funeral service for Thomas Clayton “Tony” Brown, Jr. will be 10 a.m., Tuesday, August 17, 2021, at

Riverwood Family. Visitation is from 8 a.m. until the time of service.

Mr. Brown, 59, of Brookhaven, passed from this life August 12, 2021, at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Brookhaven.

He was born May 5, 1962, in Houma, Louisiana, to Thomas Clayton Brown and Matilda Jane Jackson.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Diedra Brown and his father.

He is survived by his mother; brother, Chan Garner and wife Brandie; sister, Nan Davis; special friend, whom

Tony loved like a son, Riley Touchstone; nephews and nieces, Macy Bowman, Heidi Cain and husband, Blake,

Brady Garner, and Bryleigh Garner, as well as other loving family members and friends.

Roy Lee Buckels, Sr.

Funeral service for Roy Lee Buckels, Sr. will be 3 p.m., Wednesday, August 18, at Riverwood Family with

interment in Riverwood Memorial Park. Visitation is from 1 p.m. until the time of service on Wednesday.

Mr. Buckels, 92, of Brookhaven, passed away August 14, 2021, at his residence. He was born in McCall Creek, MS,

to Albert H. Buckles and Henrietta Gerbish Buckels. He was a graduate of Southwest Jr. College and then served in

the United States Army for 26 years and retired as a Master Sergeant. He was a recipient of the Bronze Star,

Republic of Vietnam Cross of Gallantry, the Meritorious Service Medal as well as several other medals. He was

truly an American Hero. Mr. Bucklels also retired from Packard Electric and was a member of the Mason organization.

He is preceded in death by his parents and eight brothers and sisters.

Those whom he leaves behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 68 years, Mary Catherine Buckels; sons,

Roy Buckels, Jr. (Carol), Mark Buckels (Kay), and Mike Buckels (Sally); daughter, Robin Byrd (Ron); ten grandchildren,

Amy Walker (Aaron), Kelly Buckels, Beth Wallace (Jamie), Jon Byrd (Jenny), Matt Byrd (Susan), Andy Byrd (Stephanie),

Scott Byrd (Grace Anne), Holly Buckels, Nathan Buckels, and Kari Buckels; 15 great grandchildren; as well as

other loving family members and friends.

A special thanks to Hospice Ministries’ caring staff for their love, kindness and care they provided to Roy and his family.

Judith Elaine Thames Walker

Services for Mrs. Judith Elaine Thames Walker, of Brookhaven are 10:00 am, Saturday, August 14, 2021,

at Riverwood with burial at Wellman Baptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be 5:00-9:00 pm, Friday August 13th at Riverwood.

Mrs. Judith Elaine Thames Walker, 66, went to be with her Lord on August 11, 2021,

at Baptist Medical Center. She was born on March 13, 1955, to the late

Donald and June Thames.

Preceding her in death were her parents; son, David Chance Thompson and two angel babies.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, James Walker; son, Lee Thompson and wife, Renee;’

daughters, Lacy Thompson and Kersey Walker; and brother, Pete Thames.

She is also survived by grandchildren, Mariah Danyell Carson, Katie Thompson, Hailee Thompson, Katlyn Songe,

Alainah Dupre, Vance Thompson, Hanna Thompson, Harmonie Thompson, Emma Thompson; great grandchildren,

Brooklyn Walker, Ryleigh Etheridge, Laynee Wright; and a host of nieces, nephews and family and friends.

Trey Donovan Crittenden

Services for Trey Donovan Crittenden, of Summit are 2:00 pm, Tuesday, August 17, 2021,

at Riverwood, with visitation from 11:00 am until the time of the service.

Burial will be at Montgomery Baptist Church Cemetery.

Trey Donovan Crittenden, 22, passed away August 8, 2021.

He was born on June 8, 1999. Trey was a member of Montgomery Baptist Church and was a pipefitter.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, hog hunting, playing cards, riding bikes and horses, and anything outdoors. His numerous friends were his family.

 

Preceding him in death were his great grandparents, Ludie and EJ Crittenden; John and Laurice Buller, Minnie Gertrude Davis and Carry Frith;

uncle, Donnie Crittenden; grandfather, Don Crittenden, and cousin, Drew River Smith.

 

Those left to cherish his memory are his parents, Michael and Jennifer Crittenden; daughter, Paisley Kate Crittenden;

son to be, Stetson Laine Crittenden; brother, Ty Crittenden, and sister, Chloe Crittenden. He is also survived by his grandmother,

Edna Crittenden and grandparents, Tom Frith and Elaine Frith; uncles, Tinker Frith and Gene Frith, aunts, Tammy Smith; and Frieda Frith, and cousins,

Eva Frith, Todd Smith, Colton Frith and Savannah Frith; along with other special family, Amber Case and Kaylee Brown.

He loved his family and his many friends with all his heart and would do anything for them anytime. He will be missed by all that loved and knew him.

John Buren Baker

John Buren Baker, 89, passed away August 1, 2021. He was born on April 3, 1932 to the late John Buren Baker and Vivian Camey Baker.

 

Mr. Baker served his country in the United States Army and was a owner of a Restaurant and served as a Sheriff Deputy.

He enjoyed cooking, gardening, and woodwork. He will be missed by all that loved and knew him.

 

Preceding him in death were his father, and stepmother, Katherine and mother and stepfather, Ance.

Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Jacqueline Etheridge and Melissa Lofton;

sister, Brenda and 2 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

Florence Lanier Boyd

Services for Ms. Florence Lanier Boyd are 11:00 am, Thursday, August 12, 2021,

at Dinan Baptist Church with visitation from 5:00-9:00 pm, Wednesday, August 11, at the church.

Interment will be at Elliot Cemetery.

Ms. Florence Lanier Boyd, 89, died August 6, 2021, at Parkview Care Center in Billings, Montana.

She was born March 22, 1932.

 

Preceding her in death were her husband of 52 years, David E. Boyd; parents, Otis and Olga Magee;

grandson, Trent Boyd and brothers, JW Magee and Mack Magee.

 

She is survived by her son, Kim Boyd (JoAnne) of Tylertown, MS;

grandsons, Heath Boyd of North Carolina; Charlie Jo Clayton (Lelon), of Philadelphia, MS;

great grandson, Corbin Boyd (LeRinda) of Billings, Montana, and sister, Diane Martin (Buddy) of Tylertown, MS,

Along with a host of nieces and nephews.

She worked at Haspel Brothers Inc. for 32 years and American Fabrics for 8 years,

as a supervisor.

She will be missed by all that loved and knew her.

Henry Elzie Carlisle

Funeral service for Mr. Henry Elzie Carlisle will be Wednesday, August 11, 2021, at Mt Pleasant Baptist Church in Bogue Chitto, MS.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m., Tuesday, August 10, at Riverwood and will resume at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Interment

will be in Mt Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Henry Carlisle ended his life journey August 9, 2021. He was born March 5, 1928, to his parents, Walter Henry Carlisle and Susie Ritchie Carlisle.

Mr. Henry, also known as “Papaw or Uncle Henry”, was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was a member of Mt Pleasant Baptist Church

where he served as Deacon and Church Treasurer for years. He was also a member of various committees. He graduated from Fair Oak Springs High School,

near Brookhaven, and was the only boy in his class. He joined the United States Air Force in 1948 and served in the Korean War. He was a

member of the atomic bomb nuclear test team. After returning from four years in the Air Force, he went to Whitworth College where he met and

later married his wife, Dorothy “Dot” Wallace. Mr. Henry worked for Halliburton in Laurel for 12 years. He worked at the paper mill in Monticello

for 23 years until retiring in 1991. After retirement, he kept busy by reading gas meters for several years. Papaw lived a good life for 93 years.

He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy; his parents; brothers, John Carlisle, Luther Carlisle, and Bill Carlisle; sisters, Lessie Touchston and Julie Bankston.

Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Cynthia “Cindy” Carlisle Wallace (Alan) and Michael Wallace Carlisle; grandchildren, Christi Wallace Terrell,

Lauren Carlisle, Amanda Wallace Moak (Luke), Connor Carlisle (Camille), Jacob Carlisle, Dylan Carlisle; great grandchildren, Colby Terrell, Brayton Moak,

Brylee Moak; brothers, Doc Carlisle, Shelby Carlisle; sisters, Lois Hodge, and Lynda Williams; as well as a host of nieces and nephews and other loving family members and friends.

Funeral service for Mark Anthony “Tony” Maher will be 11 a.m. Friday, August 13, 2021, at Bethesda Baptist Church

with burial in Union Church Cemetery. Visitation is from 5-8 p.m., Thursday, August 12, at Bethesda.

Mr. Maher, 59, of Canton, MS, passed from this life August 8, 2021, at University of Mississippi Medical Center.

He was born February 13, 1962, in Natchez, MS, to Bonnie Monroe Maher, Jr. and Hazel Maxine Maher. He was a

Sales and Service Technician with Mighty Lube Systematic Lubrication, INC, of Freemont, MI. Tony was an

amazing family man and a committed Christian son, husband, father, and grandfather. He was an avid outdoorsman,

especially enjoying deer hunting and bass fishing. He devoted his life to serving others and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by his father.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Charlotte Denise Wells Maher; his mother; son, Mark Phillip Maher and

wife, Kayla and stepson, Brandon Johnson and wife, Leah; step daughter, Emily Johnson; brother, Jeff Maher; sisters,

Rebecca “Becky” Maher and Dana Maher Fleming; six grandchildren, Piper Johnson, Jake Rowe Maher, Asher Johnson,

Katie Claire Maher, Sawyer Johnson, James Monroe Maher; nephews, Chris Fleming, Benji Maher; nieces, Sarah Credeur,

Emily Magee, Paige Bromen, Tiffany Johnson, Chelsea Maher; great nieces and nephews, Grace Credeur, Skylar and Colby Magee,

Malcolm “Mack” Campbell Allgood

Malcolm “Mack” Campbell Allgood, age 78, of Baton Rouge, LA passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home on Thursday,

August 5, 2021. Mack loved being outdoors, especially deer hunting, and spending time with his family and friends. The man

never met a stranger and made countless friends working at Gerry Lane Chevrolet for over 35 years.

He was born in Brookhaven, MS on October 5, 1942, to Robert E. Lee Allgood Sr. and Hazel Marie Durr Allgood. He is preceded

in death by his parents and his five siblings, Harold Smith, Clayton Allgood, Robert “June” Allgood Jr, Audrey “Nell” Laird, and

Janie Allgood Watts. He is survived by his son, John Kyle Allgood and wife, Shannon Lamar of Zachary; his daughter,

Kimberly Rhea Allgood and companion, Duane Zito of Zachary; former spouse and mother of his children, Mary Alice Stensrud Allgood

of Zachary; six grandchildren, Hunter Bick Atkinson, Kylie Brooke Allgood, Haley Alain Atkinson, Braden William Lamar,

Austin Joseph Allgood, Kelsi Rhea Atkinson and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m., Tuesday, August 10, 2021, at Riverwood Family Funeral Service in Brookhaven, MS. Visitation

will be from 11 a.m. until the time of service. Graveside service to follow at Macedonia Baptist Cemetery.

The family would like to thank the staff and nurses with Hospice of Baton Rouge for their care, compassion, and support.
