Graveside service for Mrs. Shirley Marie Boyd will be 11 a.m., Friday, June 24, at Riverwood Memorial Park.
Mrs. Boyd, 88, of Diamondhead, MS, passed from this life June 21, 2022. She was born June 9, 1934, in Los Angeles, California, “the city of angels”.
This would be apparent in her life, a very loving wife, mother, and Nanny. She especially loved watching her grandkids play sports and everyone knew
she didn’t mind feeding all the neighborhood kids too! She worked as Bookkeeper for her son’s Jewelry Store and enjoyed painting in her free time,
but grands and great grands were among her greatest pastimes. Nanny will be greatly missed and fondly remembered.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Emmett Ray Bate and Hilda Marie Bate and her son, Lance Dean Miller.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 40 years, Lawrence V. Boyd; son, Alton A. Miller, Jr. (Dusty) and wife, Stephanie; daughter,
Mona Jean Floyd; six brothers-in-law and four sisters-in-law. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Travis Miller and wife, Courtney, Kelly Gunn
and husband, Alex, Nicole Floyd, and Matthew Floyd and wife, Allison; and ten great grandchildren, Hallie Waldrop, Haygan Floyd, Ruston Waldrop,
Rhyder Floyd, Lyza Haley, Harper Gunn, Peyton Gunn, Bailee Gunn, Gabriel Miller, and Mateo Miller; several nieces and nephews and great nieces
and nephews as well as other loving family members and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Blaire E. Batson, 2500 N State Street, Jackson, MS 39216
