Mr. O’Brien, 83, of McComb, MS, died February 1, 2025, at his residence. He was born in McComb on September 14, 1941, to Alva Lee O’Brien and Olive Ruth Drew O’Brien.
Charlie was a faithful husband and loving father, grandfather and great grandfather. He spent many years driving an 18-wheeler, providing for his family. His smile was one that could light up a room and make everyone in it smile with him. He enjoyed playing solitaire on the computer and cheering on his favorite sports team, the New Orleans Saints. Charlie was deeply loved by his family and his absence will be forever felt.
He is preceded in death by his parents; sons, Charles E. O’Brien, Jr. and Mark Allen O’Brien; grandson, Chris Valentine and great grandson, Kody Allen O’Brien Davis; brother, Patrick O’Brien and sister, Barbara Anepohl.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 50 years, Kerry Sue Jordan O’Brien; children, Erin O’Brien and Karla O’Brien Wooley; brothers, Ricky O’Brien (Zoe), Alvie O’Brien; sister, Merry Johnson; seven grandchildren, Tiffany, April, Paige, Angelle, Megan, Kayla, and Jordan; and six great grands, Mya, Mattie, Ahna, Noah, Ella, and Kennidy. He is also survived by his faith family at Southway and a host of other loving family members and friends.
The O’Brien family offers appreciation to Stephanie Turnbo, a very special friend of the family.
