Brenda Brown Wall

Memorial service for Mrs. Brenda Brown Wall will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, October 23, at Riverwood Family with

interment in Riverwood Memorial Park. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. until the time of service.

Brenda Brown Wall, 75, left her earthly life on Sunday, October 17, 2021, with two of her daughters by her side at

Gulfport Memorial Hospital. It is ironic that she died of heart failure because she had the biggest heart of anyone

who ever lived. To know Brenda was to love her. She was the consummate hostess-anyone and everyone who was

fortunate to know her will attest to this fact. She was an avid gardener and bird watcher. She loved being a homemaker,

a mother, a grandmother, and most recently, a great-grandmother. Those left behind to cherish her memory understand

that she was a remarkable human; Brenda loved deeply and showed it in all that she did and said.

Brenda was born on November 14, 1945, in Hudson, Michigan, to the late Neil C. Brown and Vena T. Hackett Brown.

She attended Hudson area schools and graduated from Ferris State University. She loved her home state but moved to

Mississippi in the late 1970’s with her then husband and young family. She immediately adapted to the Magnolia State

and found a home at Jackson Street United Methodist Church in Brookhaven, where she served as an active member of

the Alice Coulter Circle of United Methodist Women and made lifelong friendships. She volunteered in the schools and

with the adult literacy program. Later in life she worked as an office manager for Estes Glass, Inc., another place where

she made lifelong friendships. She married the love of her life, Donald Henderson Wall, in 1991. They enjoyed retirement,

gardening, fishing, and traveling together for 27 years. Following Donald’s death, Brenda moved to Carriere to be close

to her daughter, Valerie, and her family. Valerie’s children were fortunate to see Brenda on an almost daily basis and learn

(usually from her porch) about turning the other cheek and remaining positive in the face of any perceived obstacles. She was

currently a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Picayune and an active member of the Dell Moffitt Circle of United Methodist Women.

In addition to her beloved husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, son, Donald H. Wall, Jr., and brother, Bernard H. Brown.

Those who will miss her more than words can say include her sister, Joyce Brown Gendron; children, Christina Upton Douglas (Rick),

George W. Upton III (Kristy), Valerie Upton Naquin (Sam), Cindy Wall, and Anne Wall Bowman; her grandchildren, Beth Leggett Carpenter (Curtis),

Blake Wall, Blair Wall, Kyle Taylor, Jack Douglas, Sarah Frances Douglas, Ben Naquin, and Tess Naquin; her great-grandchildren,

Autumn and Adelynn Carpenter and Carson and Arwen Ferguson; and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family hopes that you will do an unsolicited act of kindness in Brenda’s name or make a donation to

Trinity United Methodist Church, 3021 Woods Road, Picayune, Mississippi 39466.

I grew up as a neighbor and graduated the year after Brenda. The five comments above reflect the Brenda and her family I knew in the fifties and sixties in Hudson.
Neil owned and operated one of the six meat markets and grocery stores and he and Vena allowed the use of their backyard for softball games and various other neighborhood gatherings. The kindness people ever!
Her brother Bernard, still in his uniform on his first day home on leave from the Army, 1953, came to visit me, a bedridden child.
Brenda and her family are the examples of Christian love.
With a tear in my eye, my sincere and heartfelt sympathy.

Brenda Wall was love. Brenda Wall was service. Brenda Wall was kindness, Brenda Wall was the glue that kept Donald Wall in a continuous state of happiness. If you could not find happiness when you were around Brenda, then something was terribly wrong with you. She kept Hogchain together like a Mother keeps a family together. She was our friend, sometimes our Mother, our advisor and sometimes it went to arbitration. But she was always there.
I will miss her so much. And I will keep us all in my prayers .Joyce ,Val,Chris,George and Sam,Rick,Christi, Ann,and all the grandkids, We are all heartbroken but let us walk on in this life and be a beacon of Brenda and Donalds love and devotion to each other. Let us show that love to everyone we meet.
Farewell my friend and Rest in Peace.

Mrs. Brenda was one of the kindest moms of all my friends. She always made me feel welcome in their home. We reconnected on Facebook several years ago, and she was one of my most encouraging connections and commented often - always with something kind and encouraging. Love and prayers for Chris, Valerie, George, and the extended family in the loss of this dear lady.

Brenda was such a kind soul . Even though she & Mr. Donald were not blood related to me & my family,, I considered them my Aunt & Uncle. I’m sure Brenda& Donald are keeping the ritual of the “hog chain train” with my parents!❣️

I will miss her so calls so much. Always loved going to her home and talking about our grandchildren. When our children were home I was always invited to come visit. We would ride four wheelers and enjoyed sitting on the porch and watch the birds. She will be missed.

Brenda was one of the first people we met when we moved to Brookhaven, MS. She was an amazing Sunday School teacher and dedicated Christian lady. She became one of our best buddies during our time in Lincoln County. She made our time in Brookhaven a fun venture; visited back and forth with us; and made our Lincoln County stay more fun.

We will never forget her friendly and open acceptance into her life. Perhaps when we cross the bridge she will help us get a halo that fits, because she surely has a nice one now.
