Stacy Lynnette Burns

Graveside service for Stacy Lynnette Burns will be 11 a.m., Friday, August 21, 2020,

at Union Hall Baptist Church Cemetery.

Stacy was welcomed into the kingdom of heaven August 18, 2020. She began her

journey on earth December 14, 1971 and lived here 48 years. Every day was an opportunity

for Stacy to serve the Jesus she lived for and her strength and valor through the last several

years will be remembered and used as a testimony of her faithful love and desire to be a

witness for Christ. She enjoyed life in the great outdoors, spending time with her family

on camping trips and hiking. Family was second only to the love she had for her Lord,

but her family was her crowning achievement. “Strength and honor are her clothing;

She shall rejoice in time to come. She opens her mouth with wisdom, and on her tongue

is the law of kindness.” She will be greatly missed by all who loved her.

Those who remain to hold her memory close are her husband, Steve Burns; her parents,

Jerry and Sandra Crane; sons, Austin Burns and wife, Lyndsey and Alex Burns; daughters,

Alyssa Burns and Anna Burns; her brother, David Crane and wife, Jennifer and her sister,

Laura Brumfield and husband, Jason; nieces and nephews, Cove and Saylor Crane, Kylie

and Kaylyn Brumfield, and Tate Holmes. She also leaves behind a vast number of friends

and church family who will forever remember her loving spirit.

I met Stacy only one time and one time was enough to clearly see and feel the joy oozing out of her. She was so sweet, humble, kind, grateful. What impacted me most was hearing her say that whatever she went through, she wanted to glorify God through it. Her focus was on God and others, not on herself. Not an ounce of feeling sorry for herself, but instead, wanting God to use her. Full of faith. Contagious smile and positivism. What an example she left. I immediately admired the depth of her relationship with God and her peace and strength. May her legacy live on in her children! The seeds she planted will not be in vain. Praying for her family.

Although I was just getting to know Stacy in this life, we connected quickly on a spiritual level as sisters-in-Christ. I had big plans for our friendship: hiking, beekeeping and many more lunches together. My plans will have to wait.

Stacy was unwavering in her trust in God's sovereign plan for her life. She knew that her illness did not catch the Lord off-guard and that she could take comfort in His will. Her relationship with her Heavenly Father was at a level that I have not witnessed very often; It involved humility, surrender and ultimate trust.

I can only imagine how many jewels are in the crown she is offering back to her Lord in a body fully restored.

To the Burns family: My heart aches for your loss. Stacy talked about each of you with great affection and unending love.

Such a sweet soul inside and out. I had the privilege of going to church with her at Easthaven and also for her being my daughter's preschool teacher. She always let God's love shine brightly in her life. May God bless and comfort you today and in the days to come. Your family will be in my prayers.
