Mark Anthony Harvey

Mark Anthony Harvey, 62, of Brookhaven, passed away in his home from an ongoing health issue on September 14, 2022.

Mark was born February 11, 1960. He was a 1978 graduate of Briarfield Academy in Lake Providence, Louisiana. He had a brief career in farming before going to work in the Timber Industry for 35 years. Mark took great pride in his work as a saw filer. He was first employed with the Mill in Sondheimer, Louisiana, then Roger’s Lumber in Columbia, Mississippi. He finished his career with Jones Companies (formerly Rives and Reynolds) in Natchez, MS., in 2019.

Mark met the love of his life in 1999. In 2000, Janie became his wife. He was a dedicated provider, loving husband, and thoughtful step-father.

Mark liked listening to classic rock music and watching drag racing. He enjoyed anything with a motor, including classic automobiles, motorcycles, dirt bikes, and 3 and 4-wheelers. Mark had a special talent for riding long wheelies. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Mark is preceded in death by his parents, David Harvey and Claire Tweedy.

He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Janie Harvey and one stepdaughter, Amanda Cruse and husband, Cory, of Haughton, Louisiana.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date. Anyone who wishes to honor Mark may make a donation to the Wahabi Transportation Fund at PO Box 2750, Jackson, MS 39207.

Mark was a strong and fearless guy that will be missed by his old running buddies. Once again, he is showing us all the dark path that we all must travel. Mark will be remembered as the brave and wild one of our group. Goodbye old friend till we meet again.

Mark was always so kind to everyone. We went to school together since we were young and graduated with an awesome class of classmates who were close and cared for each other. Mark was funny and never was at the core of an argument. He was taught to work hard at an early age by his parents. I watched him take care of his father and mother in law until they passed away a couple of years ago. He was kind, caring and never too busy to come see them in Lake Providence and would stay until they were well. His classmates are all shocked about this sad news. Rest In Peace Mark. You were loved!
