Blanche Strickland Wade

Mrs. Blanche Strickland Wade, 66, of Liberty, MS, died December 22, 2024, at her residence. She was born in Albany, New York, on April 12, 1958, to Cade Strickland and Virgie McElveen Strickland.

Blanche enjoyed reading, writing poetry, and watching Wheel of Fortune and New Orleans Saints football. She enjoyed outdoor activities and hosting family get-togethers before her health declined. She also enjoyed going to church. She was a strong believer in her faith. She believed in helping and taking care of people who couldn’t help themselves. She was a strong woman who believed in her convictions and stood for what she believed in. She loved her “furbabies”. We were blessed to have her as our mom, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Preceding her in death are her parents; sisters, Patricia Rape and Kathy Strickland; and grandson, Colby Kuhlmann.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 48 years, Robert Wade; sons, Curtis Wade and Cade Drew Wade (Della); daughters, Patricia Scarberry (Larry), Viola Townsend (Dewayne), and Elizabeth Wade; nine grandchildren, Kristen Scarberry, Larry Scarberry, Christy Wade, Dominick Wade, Haley Foreman, Angel Kuhlmann, Akelee Wade, Glory Wade, and Camilla Taylor; two great-grandchildren, Connor Williams and Hazel Wardley; and a host of nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles.

The family would like to thank the St Luke Hospice staff, especially nurses, Shankeria and Joan, and the CNAs. Thank you for your support and care during this time.
